Chicago Bears injury news focuses on 6 players whose status is up in the air for NFL Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers. WRs Byron Pringle and Velus Jones Jr. & center Lucas Patrick returned to practice on Monday and have a good chance to play this week. Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said that Patrick could play center or guard depending on if he has to wear a cast on his injured hand. Jaylon Johnson got banged up in the Bears final preseason game, but should be able to play vs. the 49ers. Dominique Robinson and Trestan Ebner each have injuries as well. Their status is unknown at this time, but we’ll update the Bears injury report leading up to game day.

Justin Fields vs. Trey Lance highlights this Bears vs. 49ers Week 1 preview. Both quarterbacks are entering Year 2 as the full-time starter for their respective teams. Fields has a chip on his shoulder after being passed up by Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers in the 2021 NFL Draft. Fields had a great NFL Preseason especially in the Bears win over the Browns in which he threw for 3 touchdowns. Lance didn’t play much as a rookie as he sat behind Jimmy Garoppolo. While the 49ers say Lance is the starter, Garoppolo recently returned to practice with a restructured contract. Who will have a better year this year, Fields or Lance.
